Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NASIT), while welcoming the law brought by the government through an ordinance related to the information technology industry, has said that it will make the information technology industry more powerful and global.
NASIT also expressed the belief that the Ordinance will be implemented on time and will be further facilitated by the relevant agencies by issuing necessary procedures and guidelines.
It is mentioned in the statement that the Government has initiated various facilities and possibilities by making necessary reforms and facilitating the laws related to the information technology industry. It is said that this will send a positive message to domestic and foreign investors working in the information technology sector and it will further support the development of the overall information technology industry.
The government has set a target of exporting information technology (IT) products and services worth 30 trillion rupees within the next 10 years through the budget of the current financial year. Also, it aims to create 500,000 direct jobs and 1000,000 indirect jobs in the information technology sector. NASIT believes that the Ordinance will play a positive role in achieving that goal.
'Nepal's information technology industry is traveling from its initial state to gradual progress,' the statement said, 'At the same time, the involvement of foreign investors and employers who create jobs within the country is increasing significantly.' NASIT expects proper compliance from all sectors of the law amendments announced by the government to improve the economic and business environment and increase investment.
