The government's decision to amend the law through an ordinance to allow Nepali information technology (IT) companies to invest abroad is a positive decision, businessmen said.
It is mentioned in the statement issued by Computer Association Nepal (CAN) Federation that the information technology sector has become excited. Welcoming the government's move as a historic decision, CAN responded that a door of new possibilities has opened up in the information technology sector. On December 26, the Council of Ministers meeting approved an ordinance related to the amendment of some Nepal Acts and made a legal arrangement to allow Nepali IT companies to invest abroad, open branches, do business and bring their income into Nepal. CAN Federation believes that such an arrangement will enable Nepali IT companies to compete in the international market and increase foreign exchange earnings.
