It is said that the 'Milky Way' project conducted by Heifer International in collaboration with the Government of Nepal has increased milk production in Sindhuli's Kamalamai Municipality. A year ago, the South Korean government donated 100 Holstein cows and eight bulls for the project.

Locals said that this has increased the fertility of cows that give quality milk. At that time, 51 local farmer families were provided Holistin breed cows.

Mayor of Kamalamai Municipality Upendra Pokharel said that after bringing Korean cows, the monthly milk production of the municipality has doubled compared to last year. "A year ago, 27,000 liters of milk was produced daily," he said, "now it has reached 55,000 liters."

The event was held in Sindhuli's Kamalamai Municipality, where partners of the 'Milky Way' project have set up a 'Model Dairy Village'. "Milky Way" program is an excellent example of international cooperation, said Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Shrestha of Wagmati.

As Heifer International celebrates its 80th anniversary, Surita Sandosam, Chief Executive Officer of Heifer International, says she remembers the power of community and the impact of gift giving. "This program in Kamalamai Municipality is also a proof of the transformative power of our work and the spirit of long-term generosity," she said.
