The extended meeting of the National Independent Party (RSP) held in Kalaiya, Bara on Saturday witnessed a scuffle between the two parties. After the dispute escalated into a clash, the police safely escorted the MPs present in the meeting out of the meeting.
The video of the dispute and clash that took place in the extended meeting of the party has gone viral on social media. The video shows the cadres carrying sticks in their hands and shouting slogans in a violent manner.
The controversy had escalated after the party removed Chandan Swarnakar, the district coordinator of the RSP, from his post without even being an ordinary member. The party had taken action and expelled him for engaging in activities against the party in the elections and taking financial benefits under the party's auspices.
On Saturday, during a meeting being held at Karanraj Hotel in Kalaiya on the same issue, Swarnakar party workers entered the meeting venue and created a ruckus by hooting. There was even a scuffle when the police were called to remove them. After that, all four RSVP MPs from Bara, Ganesh Dhimal, Chandan Singh, Arvind Sah and Rahbar Ansari, who were present at the meeting, left under police protection. After a scuffle broke out among the workers, the MPs were sent away in a secure vehicle. According to MP Chandan Singh, who was present at the meeting, there was no such ruckus and scuffle and the meeting was concluded amicably.
RSVP Madhesh Province President Tapeshwor Rai informed that the dispute arose after there were many aspirants in the party. 'I am also at the party's program in Parsa.' I have to understand the latest situation there,' he said, 'I have heard that the two teams did not get along. The dispute arose after some cadres had a quarrel.'
Bara District Police Chief SP Narendra Kunwar informed that the situation had become turbulent for some time due to the internal dispute in the party, but it has returned to normal. 'The situation has calmed down now. The problem was seen as the meeting hall was small and the crowd was large due to the large number of cadres,' he said, 'Something must have happened internally.'
Swarnakar was unhappy, saying that he was removed from the party's ordinary membership through a conspiracy before the working committee session and the extended meeting. His supporters are also angry about this issue. Swarnakar has said that he was treated with prejudice.
