Nepali Congress Siraha President Ram Chandra Yadav, who was involved in a fraud case involving landless squatters in Siraha under the guise of providing them with land titles and land deeds, has admitted his involvement.
During an interview with Kantipur, he expressed his involvement in the matter. Kantipur had exposed the matter of President Yadav cheating 67-year-old Bhutta Yadav of Dhangadhimai Municipality-9, Musaharniya, by taking two lakh rupees from him at his house in Jiromile in the presence of the chairman of the Land Problem Resolution Commission, Siraha in 2080 Asoj.
A phone conversation between Bhutta, who had not received the land title deed even after more than two years, and President Yadav, demanding his money back, was made public. He said that Bhutta had come to him and asked him to settle the matter by making small talk.
'Three or four of them had come to me, I asked them to settle the matter by making small talk,' said President Yadav.
After this news became public, it has also been found that unknown people have been visiting the houses of the victims who have been cheated and threatening them. Victim Bhutta said that strangers came and asked him to speak on the video that the chairman had not taken the money and threatened him if he refused.
Along with Bhutta, 22 families in Karjanha Municipality-1, Ratanpur were cheated in this way. Commission Chairman Yadav, Land Revenue employee Rajkumar Raya, Ward Chairman Phanindra Pokharel and local Yadav Prasad Subedi recovered about 2.7 million rupees at the rate of 20,000 per kattha from the squatter families here.
