A farmer died due to electrocution in Ishanath Municipality-8 Mansari Toll of Rautahat.
Police said that 55-year-old Sheikh Zafir of Mansari Toll, who was electrocuted while watering the field with a motor, died at midnight on Sunday. While operating an electric motor to irrigate the field, he was electrocuted at night and was seriously injured and was immediately taken to the provincial hospital in Gaur for treatment. DSP Deepak Kumar Rai informed that the doctor declared him dead at night.
Immediately after the incident, a police team from Rampurkhap police station reached the spot. The body of the deceased has been kept at Gaur Hospital for post-mortem. Police said they are investigating the incident.
The number of deaths due to electric shocks is increasing in Rautahat. Recently, the number of deaths due to electric shocks while irrigating the fields has increased.
