Welcome to Batuwa in Mithila

Batuwa is being welcomed by Satu and Sarvat today. In the Mithila region, Satusarvat has been offered from this morning on the day of Baisakh Shukla Tritiya, the festival of Akshaya Tritiya.

It is believed that by donating all kinds of bread made of barley satu and sugar, sugar, misri, pepper and cold water to the batuwa who walks in hot summer, one will earn merit that will never perish.  In the

festival, Satu and Sarvat are donated without any distinction of caste, religion, sect and gender. Maithil and Mithilani are living with Satusarvat in the chokchok of the villages of Mithila region.

'It's hot, the travelers don't get food and water on time,' says 75-year-old Jankidevi of Bhangaha-4 Ramnagar, who is feeding satu and sarvat to the batua, 'Batuwa blesses them to eat satu and sarvat in the summer.' Yajnavalkya Lakshminarayan Vidyapeeth principal, an expert in Mithila tradition, Hemnarayanlal Karna says that Akshaya Tritiya is described in Bhavishi Purana.

In this festival, which is also considered to be the wedding day of Lord Shiva and Parvati, it is believed that if gold, grain and clothes are donated to Brahmins and the poor, happiness, good luck and wealth will increase.

The Akshaya Tritiya festival has emphasized on the use of cool sarvat made of sugar and sugar and strengthening barley satu to balance the amount of sugar as the body relaxes due to sweating a lot in summer.

On this day, which is believed to be the marriage of Lord Shiva and Parvati, there is a Maithil belief that Sait should not be seen for auspicious works such as a new house, feeding of children and marriage.
