Bheri Hospital has resumed services after the arrest of a person who abused health workers. The hospital issued a notice today, saying that the hospital has resumed services after a person was arrested for abusing and threatening to attack the hospital's health workers and for abusing and physically assaulting doctors and health workers on duty.
The hospital stated that it has received information from the District Administration Office that the person has been arrested and legal proceedings have been initiated. The hospital administration has demanded action against the culprits as per the Act on the Safety of Health Workers and Health Institutions.
In addition, the administration has stated that other people involved in the incident will also be arrested within 24 hours and necessary action will be taken.
A provision has also been implemented that no photos and videos can be taken inside the hospital premises without the permission of the administration.
The hospital had suspended services due to abuse of health workers. The service flow, which was affected for some time after the incident, is returning to normal and all doctors and health workers have returned to regular work, the hospital stated. The notice also warns that they will be forced to hold protests again if their demands are not met.
