Security has been tightened along the Nepal-India border following a bomb blast in the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Tuesday.

A bomb planted in a car near Delhi's Red Fort metro station has killed at least eight people. More than two dozen people have been injured in the bomb blast. The Indian Border Security Force (SSB) has tightened checks on those entering and leaving the border. Armed Police Force No. 31 Bardiya has also tightened security, said Superintendent of Armed Police Man Bahadur Shahi. He said that security arrangements have been tightened along the Nepal-India border as criminal elements can cross the border. The security personnel of both countries have increased patrols, saying that there is a possibility of infiltration due to the dense forest at Bahraich, which is connected to Bardiya. According to the Nepali Embassy in Delhi, the identity of those killed in the bomb blast has not been identified till Wednesday morning. Embassy SSP Prakash Malla said that there was no information till Monday night whether there were any Nepali casualties in the bomb blast. The embassy said that high alert has been adopted after the bomb blast in Delhi.
