Vishrantidham Sanskrit Gurukul in Mulghat, Dhankuta has been awarded this year's Saraswati Prasad-Durgadevi Rijal Memorial Education Sanskrit Award.

Saraswati Prasad-Durgadevi Rijal Memorial Foundation, Sunsari, honored the Gurukul with a cash award of Rs. 200,000 on Tuesday. The Gurukul located in Mulghat, Dhankuta Municipality-9 was honored on the occasion of the foundation's fourth foundation day.

The award was handed over by Dhankuta Municipality Mayor Chintan Tamang during a special program. The award selection committee of Academics Bivas Pokharel, Lochan Rijal and Raju KC had selected the institution to be awarded the award.

Earlier, the foundation has given various awards to Pandit Purushottam Bhattarai, Biyog Sapkota, Bairagi Kainla, Prem Prasad Neupane, Prof. Dayaram Shrestha, and Rabindra Puri, informed the foundation's chairperson Shanta Rijal. This is the first time that social organizations have been honored this year.

Swami Vijayananda Saraswati, Dhankuta Municipality Mayor Tamang, poet Pokharel, Prof. Gopal Bhandari, Bishwa Prasad Rijal, Vice President of Vishranti Mandir Damodar Dahal, General Secretary Janardan Ghimire, and foundation chairperson Shanta Rijal, among others, delivered speeches at the award distribution program.
