The Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJN) has published a book titled 'Dr. Swarnim Wagle's Perspective on Economic Policy: Prosperity, Inequality and Reforms Over the Years' Debate'.

This book was released by Finance Minister Wagle at the Ministry of Finance on Monday. The book includes 8 in-depth articles published by Sejan at different times with thematic specificity.

Finance Minister Wagle said that this book reminds us of the advocacy he made for reforms in the past. He said that it will help the general stakeholders understand his point of view. 'The agenda of economic reforms raised in the past is included in the book.

Earlier, as a subject expert, many things raised for reforms were not heard. Finally, having come into politics, I am now in an executive role implementing all three agendas,' said Finance Minister Wagle, 'I will carry out reforms based on these documents.'

The book examines the economic structure of Nepal from various dimensions in a detailed manner over a decade from 2071 to 2082.

The book covers serious issues such as trade costs between South Asian countries, economic strengthening of federalism, the end of crony capitalism and the changing nature of international aid.

Highlighting the bitter reality that Nepal's productivity growth is zero, he argues that small reforms alone will not suffice and that 'big bang reforms', i.e., comprehensive structural reforms, are needed. With the goal of taking the economy to over $100 billion, digitalization, clean energy and tourism have been presented as the main forces of the economy.

SEJON President Bhagat Bhattarai said that the main purpose of publishing this book is to convey the thinking of the current Finance Minister and his perspective on Nepal's economy to the general public and stakeholders. He also said that this book will also help journalists evaluate Finance Minister Wagle's policies and behavior.
