Books have been invited for the ‘Sahityapost Award 2081’ worth Rs 150,000. Sahityapost has invited books for the cash award to be given to the best work of three budding writers in the three genres of poetry, fiction and non-fiction.

The prize money for these awards, which are given in categories named ‘Sahityapost Poetry Award’ for poetry, ‘Sahityapost Narrative Award’ for fiction and ‘Sahityapost Non-Narrative Award’ for non-fiction, is Rs 50,000 each.

Writers and poets who have published their first book within the year 2082 (from Baisakh 1 to Chaitra 30) will be entitled to these awards.

‘There are many awards and honors to honor old writers and poets, but it is difficult to find organizations and media outlets in our country that give space to the works of budding writers and honor them. Accepting this truth, Sahitya Post has started this campaign since 2077 BS, said Sahitya Post Editor-in-Chief Ashwini Koirala.

Three budding writers, one from the poetry collection (poems, ghazals, free verse, haiku, bachita, etc.) published throughout the year; one from the fiction collection (stories, novels, plays, short stories, etc.) and one from the non-fiction (essays, travelogues, study-research works related to Nepali language literature, etc.), will be honored with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each.

The first detailed list of the awards will be made public on 20 Baisakh, 2082 BS, Koirala said.
