The National Folk and Dohori Song Foundation Nepal District Working Committee, Syangja, has honored Panchebaja artist Hari Bahadur Darji, a resident of Putalibazaar Municipality-14, for his contribution to the preservation and promotion of folk culture.
The foundation celebrated the 25th National Folk Dohori Day at Panini Ashram in Putalibazaar Municipality-14, Lamage. The father was honored on the same occasion.
At the program, the central secretary of the foundation, Ghanshyam Rijal, honored the 70-year-old father by covering him with a dosalla. He mentioned that folk culture history is preserved and said that history should not be forgotten. In the process, he also remembered Ramesh Biji, the creator of the same field.
Biji, who led the foundation center, is currently in Australia for foreign employment. Stating that the national general convention of the foundation should be held, he claimed that the future leadership will also be from Syangjali.
Stating that Syangjali artists have a significant presence at the national level, he said that history cannot be forgotten. Darji is the coordinator of the 'Lamage Panchebaja Group'. He has been active as an artist for a long time and has been continuously contributing to various cultural programs and folk singing. Jagat Gaudel, the president of the Syangja Foundation, said that he played an important role in the preservation and promotion of Nepali folk culture.
On the occasion of the program, the Foundation provided financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to the ashram with the aim of preserving folk culture, honoring artists and encouraging new talents, and also conducted a tree plantation program. The program provided entertainment to the participants by giving cultural performances including dances and songs.
