The Jhapat Award Management Committee has decided to award four people with the Jhapat Award. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Committee Chairman Arun Rana has decided to award Sanat Regmi and Rajendra Thapa with a sum of one lakh rupees each and Dr. Gopal Prasad Sharma and Dr. Kanchi Maharjan with a sum of one lakh rupees jointly.
Regmi will be awarded the Jhapat Award for his distinguished contribution to the growth of Nepali literature through storytelling. Similarly, the ‘Yagya Keshar Award’ will be given to lyricist General Rajendra Thapa, who has made the Nepali language popular through words.
Dr. Gopal Prasad Sharma and Dr. Kanchi Maharjan, who are pursuing their doctorates in Nepali language and literature, will be awarded the ‘Saindhwaj Nanda Kumari Research Award,’ informed Rekha Rana, Member Secretary of the Jhapat Award Management Committee.
The Jhapat Award Management Committee, formed under the coordination of Indira Prasai, will be organized by Prof. Dr. Hemchandra Nepal and Prof. Dr. The Jhapat Award Selection Committee, of which Bharat Kumar Bhattarai is a member, has recommended the names of the award-winning creators.
