The book 'Ila Sharma Nari Sangharshka Smritiharu' has been released in memory of the late former Election Commission Commissioner Ila Sharma. The book was released during a program organized in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The book was released by Supreme Court Justice Sapna Pradhan Malla, former Chief Election Commissioner Bhojraj Pokharel, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Nirmala Sharma and the book's editor Dr. Alka Atreya Chudal. At the program, Judge Malla described Ila Sharma as a brave and courageous personality and also recalled the expressions and courage she had experienced because of being a woman.

Similarly, former Chief Election Commissioner Pokharel remembered Sharma as a tolerant personality who could overcome any difficult challenge. He says, 'Sharma was multi-talented and worked with women's representation and marginalized groups as a priority.'

Journalist Sharma said that the hard work, struggle and contribution of Ila Sharma are a source of inspiration for everyone. She also said that it would be a true tribute if she could bring about changes through policies and regulations that she has dreamed of. The editor of the book, Dr. Chudal, said that this book, which records the contribution and history of Nepali women, is a vivid document of Nepali women's struggle. The articles included in the 255-page book based on Sharma's memoirs have been compiled and arranged by Amrita Lamsal. The book has been launched by Akshar Creations.

At the program, publisher Dr. Archana Thapa said that the book commemorates the justice, integrity, struggle and contribution to society of Ila Sharma. Former Election Commissioner Sharma died on 28 Ashad 082.
