Amar Nembang Memorial Award to be given to three people including Kantipur journalist Sapkota

The 'Late Amar Nembang Memorial Award' established in memory of the then chairman of Falgunanda Rural Municipality and litterateur Amar Nembang will be presented to three people, including Kantipur journalist Deepak Sapkota.

The award selection committee meeting held on Sunday decided to award Sapkota, poet Devendra Sakten Rai and writer Malisha Yakthungba, informed Munindra Nemwang, chairman of the Amar Nemwang Memorial Foundation. According to him, the award being distributed this year is for the seventh edition.

The award consists of Rs 50,000 each along with a letter of appreciation.

Kantipurkarmi Sapkota is also the coordinator of the Saturday supplement 'Koseli'. The essay collection 'Nirbandh Montage' and the essay collection 'Location' are being published under his editorship. He was the editor of the literary monthly 'Pandulipi'.

Similarly, Sakten and Yakthungba, who will be awarded, are also active in poetry and writing.

Earlier, the award was presented to Krishna Dharavasi, Swapnil Smriti, Shravan Mukarung, Prem Ojha, Sharda Subba, Bina Thing, Dr. Govindaraj Bhattarai, Bir Nembang, Devi Kshetri Dulal, Munaraj Sherma, Bimala Tumkhewa and Giriraj Baskota.

The award is presented every year on Magh 26, on the occasion of the memorial day of the late Amar Nembang.
