Anil Sharma Birahi of Chitwan and Krishna Wagle Rupesh of Gorkha, who have been writing books and articles about martyrs, were honored on Friday on the occasion of Martyrs' Day.

Sharma and Wagle were honored at a program organized by the literary magazine 'Hamro Sirjana' in Narayangadh on Friday.

Anil Sharma Birhi has written Shahid Prachimala Part 1 and 2. In addition, more than two dozen of his articles about martyrs have been published in various newspapers and online media. He has been helping to form the Shahid Pratishthan and to place statues of martyrs in various places and to build parks.

Krishna Wagle Rupesh has written books like Gorkha and Janayuddha, Sangharsh and Balidan, Shahid Saga and Shahid and Missing Warrior. The review collection 'Alg Kriti, Farak Pratish' by retired professor of history Karna Bahadur Baniya was also released at the program.

Ramakant Sapkota gave a speech about the background of martyrs at the program. He said that more in-depth research is needed on the students who were martyred in the Gen-G movement.
