Preparations for the second Madhesh Literature Festival, which is being organized in Birgunj from Thursday with the aim of promoting the language, literature and culture of Madhesh, have been completed, according to the organizers.

According to Rituraj Sah, chairman of the organizer Utkarsh Nepal, the festival will feature the participation of writers, poets and thinkers from Madhesh as well as from across the country. Poetry readings, literary discussions, book releases and cultural programs will be presented during the festival.

He said that the festival, which will be organized on the premises of Madhesh University, aims to introduce the literary identity of Madhesh at the national and international levels. He said that special sessions have also been arranged to attract the youth towards literature. The chief guest of the inauguration ceremony will be Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav. The speaker of the topic 'Village: Memory, Myth and Reality' is Bhaskar Gautam. 

Similarly, the speaker of the session 'Village Youth: Escape, Policy and Alternative' will be Basant Kumar Kushwaha, Bhogendra Jha and Saloni Pradhan Singh. The speaker of the session 'Village: Democracy and Authority' is Suresh Dhakal, Sucheta Pyakurel and Sabin Ninglekhu.  Similarly, Gopal Thakur, Anjay Mishra, Tribhuvan Barai and Rakesh Mishra are the speakers in the 'Village: Memory and History' session. The festival will last for three days.
