Bhushita Vasishtha will be reciting a verse poem at the Palenti series to be held at Nepalaya's 'R' School in Kalikasthan.
Bhushita had recited poetry in Paleti seven years ago. Bhushita will recite poems by Lekhnath Poudel, Somnath Sigdyal, Motiram Bhatta, Bhairav Aryal, Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Lokapriya Devkota, Nayraj Pant, Manoj Bhandari, Bharatmani Bhattarai and her own poems.
The organizers have said that Bhushita will base her poetry recitation on Navaras. Bhushita, who came from America a few years ago after completing her studies in ‘Creative Writing’, currently lives in Dharan. She is interested in English as well as Sanskrit and has come to Kathmandu for Paleti. She is currently collaborating with musicians from Paleti in Nepalaya.
‘Palenti was a wonderful learning environment for me. I did not have the ability to do it justice yesterday, nor today. However, this closeness gave me more strength to practice poetry. As blessed as I am, if I could express even a part of it, this spring-bath of poetry would have been worthwhile,’ says Bhushita.
Musician Abhas said that his musical team is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Chhand Kavita. He said, ‘The influence of Chhand-Palenti, which was done almost seven years ago, makes me feel even more attracted to this genre.’
