There will be attractions including working papers on children's literature, various sessions on child issues, book releases, interactions, and museum exhibitions.
The third major children's literature festival is scheduled to be held from Magh 11. The three-day festival is being held at the Patan Durbar Museum under the joint organization of the Nepal Children's Literature Society, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, and Patan Museum.
The festival will feature presentations of children's literature-related papers, group discussions on various topics related to children's literature and child concerns, book releases on children's literature, interactions, and museum exhibitions.
The festival will also feature programs such as dance, singing, drama, poetry/story readings with the participation of various schools, students, teachers, parents, and writers and artists from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur in the valley.
Senior writer Prof. Mizanur Rahman Kallol, who will be coming from Bangladesh, will deliver a 'keynote speech' at the festival, said the society's president Vijayraj Acharya.
Sessions will be held on the topics of 'Social Networks and Children', 'Local Government and Children', 'Children's Literature, Textbooks and Reading Culture', 'Changing Status of Children's Literature', 'Heritage, Culture and Children'.
The working papers include Dr. Tirtha Bahadur Shrestha's 'Science in Children's Literature', Prof. Victor Pradhan's 'The Path of Children's Literature', Prof. Mizanur Rahman Kallol's 'Folklore to Future: Blending Bangladeshi Culture with Science Fiction', Gauri Pradhan's 'Children's Rights in Children's Literature'.
Theatre artist and children's writer Kedar Shrestha will give a presentation on 'Children's Literature along with Children's Theater and Children's Films', while theatre artist Pushparaj Awasthi and artist Krishnabhakta Maharjan will conduct a drama and art performance. There will also be musical performances by senior artists Pradeep Bamjan, Roshan Singh Kshitij, Narahari Premi and others.
