Shivraj Shahi has won first place in this year's Bahrakhari Story Competition. Storyteller Shahi's story titled 'Ek Mantha Ek Deuta' has been declared the best in the competition organized by Bahrakhari Media every year.
Along with this, he received a prize of two hundred thousand rupees along with a trophy. Prime Minister Sushila Karki presented the award to Shahi at the winner announcement and award distribution ceremony held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Similarly, Ritesh Gurung's 'Bhuinkuhiroko Bishak' and Indra Prasad Gotame's story titled 'Adhuro Kapili' of 'Jagatjung' secured the second and third places, respectively. They received two hundred thousand and three hundred thousand rupees respectively.
Bahrakhari has also published a book containing the best stories of 25 storytellers, including the winners of the competition. The book has also been released.
