Senior litterateur and former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand has been felicitated by 101 literary organizations. The felicitation was held at a function held at Lokanthali, Bhaktapur, on Monday, appreciating his contribution to the literary field.
The organizer stated that he was honored for establishing his unique identity in his long political journey and completing a six-decade-long creative journey for the benefit of Nepal and the Nepali people through literature, writing and creation.
Chand has created a wealth of works in genres including stories, poems, novels, humor-satire, essays, etc. Speaking at the felicitation program, senior litterateur and former Prime Minister Chand expressed the view that all political forces should stand together to maintain the sovereignty, integrity, sovereignty and independence of the country. He expressed gratitude for the collective felicitation, calling the literary field his 'first love'.
Critic Pramod Pradhan said that although Chand's literary journey was hampered by some obstacles due to his political journey, he was able to remain active due to his passion for the Nepali language, literature, art and culture. He praised Chand's contribution to the field of literature, noting that even at the age of 86, dozens of his works were published.
Chand was also honored with the Madan Puraskar in 2054 BS. His notable contributions include works like ‘Bisarjan’, ‘Barhaun Khiladi’, ‘Aparichit’, ‘Sandhyavali’, ‘Ratrbhojoj’, ‘Kursi’, ‘Hiyunko Tanna’, ‘Indradhanush’ and ‘Netako Sathi’. The program was jointly organized by Tara Kishan Foundation, Nepal Shreshta Samaj and Literary Journalists Association.
