Two literary works by poet, essayist and critic Amar Giri have been released simultaneously. Giri's sixth collection of poems, 'Raatma Kalam', and a new collection of thoughtful essays, 'Samay, Shabd, and Samvad', were released in the capital on Tuesday.

In a brief press meet, Giri recited three poems from his new collection, 'Raatma Kalam', 'Hey Ram!' and 'Euta Kriyaka Nama'.

'Amar Giri is a poet who never tires of climbing the same mountain. Being a tireless traveler on the rise of poetry for more than five decades is extraordinary evidence in itself,' publisher Bela Publications said, 'Poet Giri has been continuously active in the progressive poetry stream since the 2030s. From gross topics like society, nature, life, philosophy, class struggle to the subtlest emotions of human life like conflict, love, pain, hope, disappointment, and anxiety, Giri's poems express them in a simple word structure and beautiful style. These poems of Giri, which give voice to the happiness and sorrow of the common man, sing the story of the importance of life, show solidarity with the struggling, and stand confidently against the distorted world, are the sharp voices of gentle love.'

Giri, who has also been writing political columns, has been active in the field of Nepali progressive poetry since the 2030s. He has already published five poetry collections, including 'Gham Chekne Pahad, Teh Hami Zivi Chon, Dushadhya Sama, Shwori Khabara, and Sama Sambad. Giri has also published dozens of original and edited works of criticism. His major criticism works are - Time, Society and Culture, Ideological Perspective of Contemporary Nepali Poetry, Globalization and Literature, Literary Discussion, and Class Conflict in Poetry. Many criticism collections have been published under his editing and co-editing.

Giri, who has also been active in the fields of Nepal's progressive cultural movement, literary field, and organization for five decades, is the former president of the Progressive Writers' Association. He has done doctoral research on Nepali progressive poetry.
