A grand literary festival has been organized by Siliguri Sahitya Academy, New Delhi, in collaboration with Book-Ant Publication House, Siliguri.

Bhanubhakta Samiti, Gurung Nagar, held a literary festival at the Book-Ant Publication House auditorium, where the poets discussed their works from the poet conference to the personalities. 

The event was festive, bringing together renowned poets, senior writers, scholars and literature lovers on one stage due to the common commitment to the Nepali language and literature, said Kavi Raja Puniyani, one of the organizing committee.

The festival, divided into three main sessions, included the Nepali poet conference, meeting with writers, and discussion of personalities and works. Young and emerging poets Muskan Lakandri, Ajit Bishwa, Regina Subba, Mary Lepcha and Prajjwal Thapa recited their original poems at the Nepali poet conference.

In the second session, 'Meeting with writers', senior writer/journalist of Siliguri,  Yubaraj Kafle shared his experiences in literature and journalism. A special booklet containing his life journey and literary contributions was also made public. 

Siliguri Literature Festival: From Poet Conference to Discussion of Works and People In the third session, Siddhiraj Sharma, a renowned neurologist from Siliguri region, gave an inspiring presentation on the role of books in human life, expressing his views on the interrelationship of ‘medicine and literature’.

The chief guest of the festival, which was held under the chairmanship of Shankar Dev Dhakal, coordinator of the Nepali Language Advisory Committee of the Sahitya Akademi, was renowned scientist Padma Shri winner Eklavya Sharma, who gave a comprehensive speech covering all three sessions, saying that the literary gathering will serve as a bridge between the exchange of ideas and society and writers.
