The sale and distribution of books published by Geeta Press, famous for its Eastern philosophy and religious literature, will now be done from Butwal. A sales and distribution center was opened in Butwal from Wednesday with the aim of making all the books published by Geeta Press, based in Gorakhpur, India, easily available. This is the second distribution branch of Geeta Press.
The Geeta Press Book Sales and Distribution Center established at Jessie's Chowk in Butwal will sell 18 Puranas, Upanishads, philosophy, Sanskrit literature and various religious and spiritual books.
The center's operator and senior vice president of the World Hindu Federation, Shankar Kharal, said that books will be available from the sales center for two to three thousand Indian rupees.
According to him, now there is no need to go to India or Kathmandu to study and purchase books on Eastern philosophy. This is the second branch of Geeta Press to be launched in Butwal. Kharal said that out of the approximately three thousand books published by Geeta Press, more than one thousand books will be available from Butwal. He informed that the books available in Sanskrit, Nepali, English and Hindi languages will be made available according to the demand of the customers.
World Astrology Federation President and religious activist astrologer Janardan Neupane said that the Butwal distribution center will be useful for readers living in the western part of the country. "This is a great opportunity for those interested in studying Eastern philosophy and spiritual literature," he said. "We believe that it will provide easy access to spiritual literature in this area."
