Four ghazal writers have presented ghazals in the eleventh edition of the 'Ghazalsang...' series, which is regularly conducted by Ghazal Manch Chitwan.
Four composers were invited to perform ghazals at the program held in Gaindakot on the banks of the Narayani River.
Lekhram Sapkota, the outgoing president of Ghazal Manch Chitwan, Babu Tripathi from Kathmandu, Babita Bhujel from Biratnagar, and SR Duwadi from Devghat sat on the same stage and recited ghazals.
All of these composers recited six ghazals each in three stages. The program, which was presented in singing style along with recitation, was very well received by the audience.
Ghazal Manch Chitwan has been continuing this series with the aim of encouraging new composers and honoring experienced ones.
Chairman of the forum, Ramkrishna Anayash, said that the scope of ghazal writing is broadening by bringing together composers from various geographical areas on one stage.
Vice-Chairman of the forum, Kamal Aryal, says that such programs have increased the confidence and creative ability of new composers. "Our efforts to bring together those involved in the ghazal journey have increased activism among the youth," he said.
The forum's secretary, Pramila Sanu, says that the organization has helped bring forward many talents in its nearly two-decade journey through various programs.
