Three works by cultural scholar Dr. Shashi Thapa Pandit have been released simultaneously. Thapa's works 'Nepali Kalama Kamakala', 'Women of Mallakali Nepal' and 'Cultural Studies of the Nagarjuna Region' have been released.
In a program chaired by Dr. Bina Paudyal, historian Dinesh Raj Pant, Prof. Dr. Peshal Dahal and culture expert Dr. Jagman Gurung jointly launched the works. Discussing the composition of all three works, the author thanked her family, relatives, friends, colleagues and teachers who supported the publication of these works.
Discussing the work ‘Women of Mallakalik Nepal’, Dinesh Raj Pant said that it depicts the social, economic, religious and political conditions of the Malla period as well as the condition of women. He said that the book was prepared with great effort and is error-free and informative.
In his congratulatory remarks, Prof. Dr. Peshal Dahal mentioned that it was difficult to guide, provide materials and give instructions at the beginning as he did his PhD research on a subject that society cannot digest like art. Discussing the work ‘Cultural Study of Nagarjuna Region’, Prof. Dr. Dahal said that the Nagarjuna region is discussed in the development and development of the Kathmandu Valley. He said that there are many historical and cultural records and evidence in this region. He said that the book, which is comprised of seven chapters, has revealed everything about the art, culture, festivals, monasteries, customs, religious beliefs, etc. of the region.
Cultural expert Dr. Jagman Gurung said that Dr. Thapa had the courage to publish a work on the art of craftsmanship. He said, ‘After Rathi Dhan Shamsher Jabra’s ‘Kamkala Rahasya’ was destroyed, this is the first book on the art of craftsmanship written by a Nepali citizen.’ He praised Dr. Thapa, saying that creativity enhances a person’s personality.
Chairperson Dr. Bina Paudyal said that three works have been published at once and now Dr. Thapa will be known through his works. At a program organized by Nepal Adarsh Mahila Sangh, Balaju, Kathmandu, the association also honored Dr. Thapa with a dosalla and a certificate of honor.
