The Nepali Talent Foundation UK has announced that it will award the 'Distinguished Talent Award' to veteran poet Jasraj Kirati this year. Similarly, the organization has also announced that it will award the 'Pratiba Puraskar' (talent award) to young journalist and writer Bijayet Karna Chaudhary.
According to a press release released on Saturday after the Nepali Pratibha Foundation's executive committee meeting, this year's special talent award carries a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a copper plaque and a rosary. Born on 17th of July 2002 in Matchungaun, Buipa-6, Khotang, Kirati has been active in writing poetry since childhood. His first work, Ujjaya Khande Aankhor (2036), Jasraj Kirati's Poetry Collection, 2057 and Jasraj Kirati's Representative Poetry Collection (2064) have been published.
Similarly, the Pratishthan Vice President Mijas Tembe said that Vijeta Chaudhary, who was born in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha in 1981, will be given the Pratibha Award for her active work in the field of Maithili language literature and Nepali journalism. Kirati and Chaudhary will be presented with the Pratibha Award and Pratibha Award by Bairagi Kaila, former Chancellor of Nepal Pragya Pratishthan, at a ceremony to be held in Kathmandu in the coming month, the Pratishthan said in a statement issued by the Pratishthan on Saturday.
