Dharan-based poet Bimal Gurung Memorial Library has decided to award the 2081 'Bimal Gurung Kriti Puraskar' to Basant Basnet's novel 'Simsara'. The Library Board of Directors announced this decision by issuing a press release on Monday. Basnet is the editor-in-chief of onlinekhabar.com.
According to the chairman of the library, Purnawahadur Gurung, 104 works were received from home and abroad for the award. Previously, the best 10 works were selected from the received works. Chairman Gurung said that among them Simsara novel was selected for the award.
This award of two lakh rupees will be awarded on the occasion of the 34th National Poetry Festival to be held on October 19 and the 54th birth anniversary of poet Bimal Gurung.
