Folk singer Kavita Ale honored with 'Saru Sangeet National Award'

According to Denny Niraula, Managing Director of Saru Sangeet Ghar, the award, established under the patronage of senior musician and singer Komal Niraula, is presented every year to a female artist over 40 years of age who has made a special contribution to the field of Nepali song, music and instrumental music.

Kavita Ale, a well-known name in the folk music field, has been honored with this year's Saru Sangeet National Award. Saru Sangeet Ghar established an Akshaya Kosh of Rs 3 lakh last year in memory of the late Saraswati Niraula.

Singer Lochan Bhattarai, a member of the committee, said that the selection committee chose Kavita Ale for this year's award. She said, "V.S. Born in the year 2012 in Fakfolk, Elam, Kavitha Ella has played an important role in giving a distinct identity to the Eastern folk songs in Nepali folk music. His contribution as a creative artist who can create organic folk music is incomparable. In the ceremony held under the chief hospitality of senior musician Deepak Jangam, Nepal Airlines executive chairman Yuvraj Adhikari, Patan High Court judge Durga Dhungel, senior musician Milan Moktan, educationist Bishnu Kumar Niraula, Lalitpur district Pabson president Tara Khanal, former secretary Khemraj Nepal, writer Dr. Ratnamani Nepal and others were present.
