Poet and storyteller Abhay Shrestha has donated the amount of Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur Kriti Samman received for his poetry work 'Lahna and Teer' to Patanjal Yoga Samiti (PAYS) Nepal.

At the seventh anniversary program of Gundu Yoga Sadhana Center held on Saturday in Gundu, Bhaktapur, Shrestha handed over the 25,000 rupees received for the honor to Treasurer Geeta Prasad Nepal in the presence of Payos Nepal President Balmukund Suwal and Senior Vice President Navraj Kafle.

Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur awarded Shrestha's work 'Lahna and Tir' as the best among the Nepali poetry collection published in 2080-81 and gave this honor in Hetounda on 10th of June. Lahna and Teer is published by Bookhill in the year 2080 . Sahitya Sangam Makwanpur Kriti Samman Hetaunda poet Keshav Shrestha 'Jyoti' was founded.

Shrestha said that this amount has been provided as support for building construction in Payos Nepal. Payos Nepal's building is under construction at Tathli under Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur. Shrestha is a yoga instructor and advisor to Payos Nepal Central Committee.

Mentioning that his parents passed away at a young age due to illness, Shrestha mentioned that he has given this amount to the yoga organization with the wish that no one should lose their life prematurely. "Practice of yoga plays a role in preventing people from getting sick," he said, "so that no one has to die due to famine." That's why I myself i have taken up yoga practice, training and self-study of natural medicine .'

Shrestha had previously returned the amount of Garima Gadya Samman-2069 established by Saha Prakashan to Saha Prakashan, which was financially bankrupt. Shrestha's story 'Bhuinchalo' was awarded Garima Gadya Samman-2069 as the best among the prose published in Garima Monthly.

Patanjal Yoga Samiti Nepal was established in the year 2075 at the initiative of Balamukund Suwal, a yoga seeker. Sadhana centers have been opened all over the country under this organization with the original curriculum.
