The students of Institute of Engineering Studies (Western Campus) Lamachaur are equally active in literature along with studies. In this campus there is an organization called Engineering Literary Network (INSAS) which organizes sometimes musical and sometimes literary evenings. Technical education students sometimes sing songs from the stage of INSAS, sometimes they recite their own compositions.

In order to attract technical education students to literature, 'INSAS Corner (INSAS Library)' has been established in the campus on the initiative of INSAS. The outgoing president Vijay Adhikari said that the library, which was closed in 2007, has been restored from this week. "The book corner that was opened by the first brothers was also lost, it was closed because it could not be preserved," he said, "Now we have asked the campus for the same old room in the library and restored it since last Monday."

Insas Corner has been restored in the same room as it was established 10 years ago . He said that it has been agreed that INSAS will appoint a coordinator for the library and the campus will assist in keeping the record of books taken and brought. The campus asked INSAS to manage the books there, saying that the room where the library was made would be used for other purposes. The campus administration also became positive after the officials of INSAS along with Vijay said that they would re-operate if there is support in its management. It's an old room. The campus had other items there . We asked them to vacate this corner so that we can start it again,' he said, 'Even though it was closed, it was being cleaned from time to time.'

'Insas Library' is back again

He said that currently around 500 books are available in Insas corner. The library has been rehabilitated by adding books received from INSAS officials, advisors, patrons and writers in Pokhara. He told that the book can be obtained by showing the campus ID card and there is no charge for reading. He told that apart from sitting in the corner and reading, it is arranged to take a book home for 6 months (one semester). According to him, if the book is not returned within 6 months, a fine of Rs 1 per day will be charged.

INSAS was established in the year 2068 by the activism of engineering students. A literary library (INSAS Corner) was opened in the campus in 072 on the initiative of INSAS to attract technical education students to literature. At that time, about 300 books were kept in the corner. Former President Sadhuram Lamichhane said that INSAS Corner (INSAS Library) was established 10 years ago by collecting available books from INSAS members and close friends. There were technical books in the campus library. We opened a library by registering INSAS in the campus to keep literary books as well,' he remembered.

After Sadhuram and other students Vishnu Rizal, Sandeep Gautam and others left the campus after completing their studies, the activities of INSAS came to a standstill. There was no one to protect the library. How many books have been lost. And the existence of 'Insas Corner' also started disappearing. "Financial resources to add to the book have decreased . There is a lack of generation interested in literature," he added, "the library has slowed down. Now there is a generation that wants to do something again.'

He recalled that the then campus head Narayan Prasad Gautam, professors Harisharan Adhikari and Dilip Joshi, active in literature Ghazal Sandhya, and organizations like Muktak Manch helped a lot to establish a library in the campus. He said that he had started a campaign to collect at least 5 books from close friends to establish a library.
