The first 'Sangrilla Dialogue' of the Sangrila Literature Festival was held on Saturday at Moksha Restaurant and Bar in Lalitpur. In the dialogue-opening, poets Tulsi Diwas and Ramesh Kshitij discussed in depth about poetry writing, ups and downs of life and philosophy.
Kshitij highlighted Diwas' contribution to reading, writing and culture. Going back to the days he walked, Diwas said that any subject should be looked at in a relative manner . "In life, you should only write the truth that you see or understand and that is the honesty of the writer," Diwas said. 12 poets recited their new and old poems in the second session of poetry-reading after
day and Kshitij dialogue. Poets Avinash Shrestha, Shailendra Sakar, Shravan Mukarung, Deepak Sapkota, Geeta Tripathi, Jyoti Jungle, Vimala Tumkheva, Shakuntala Joshi, Bina Thing Tamang, Abhay Shrestha, Tank Upreti and Savita Gautam Dahal created a grand and beautiful poetic atmosphere of the poem . Most of the poets wrote portraits of their loved ones and their nostalgia in poetry.
Poet Deepak Sapkota's 'Grandma who came out of the frame', Shravan Mukarung's 'Humanasin Bhujelko Bhainsi-Prem', Vimala Tumkheva's 'A day on a public bus', Savita Gautam Dahal's 'Bachannere', Shakuntala Joshi's 'Barko Bot' poems kept the audience emotional and mesmerized. At the conclusion of the
program, Aryak Baral, the president of the festival, said that the program will be regular on a monthly basis and the courage of the writers will be needed. Ken Subedi, director of
festival, said, "Samvad will be organized monthly as a collective initiative of various organizations." Sangrila Samvad will be a common platform for literary activities, book release, book discussion, debate.' According to him, the next series of Sangrila Samvad will be held in August.
