Mukkumlung Literary Institute has been established with the aim of increasing literary activities in the district. A gathering of those who have been wielding a pen in the field of literature has formed a 29-member foundation under the chairmanship of Manish Hallok.

Mani Sembu, Navraj Acharya and Muksam Labung are the vice-presidents, while Pomu Kechang, Sita 'Pirti' Sanwa, secretary Dewansingh Maden, joint secretary KB Kirati and Leela 'Ansu' Sunuwar are the treasurer.

Foundation will immediately establish literary inclusion and protection, literary program and training and Mukkumalung Sahitya Samman, President Hallok informed. 

The foundation formed with three action plans has plans to form branches of the foundation in other districts and abroad, and to publish books in literary genres.  The works of everyone associated with the office bearers of
