Children's writer and researcher Indra Chaudhary's research book titled 'Tharu Culture and Folklore of the Far West' has been launched.

The book was released on the occasion of the 212th birth anniversary of Adicavi Bhanubhakta Acharya. Meghraj Khadka, Minister of Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province Government, Vice Chancellor of Sudurpaschim Pragya Pratishthan Dr. TN Joshi and others jointly launched it.  In the

program, Vice Chancellor Joshi expressed his happiness that he was able to publish a book on the folk culture and folklore of the Tharus, who are the main caste of the Far West. He said,  'Sudorpaschim Pragya Pratishthan has collected, studied and researched the art, culture, language, and traditions of various castes of the far west and published them. This time we have published a book on the culture and folklore of the Tharu caste. In the coming year, we are preparing to publish a book covering the culture of other castes.'

writer Choudhary expressed his happiness that Sudurpaschim Pragya Pratishthan believed in him and gave him a project for study. 'The institution asked me to study about the culture of the Tharus of the Far West  I would like to thank the entire establishment family including the vice-chancellor of the institution for giving me the opportunity,' he said, 'I am very happy to be able to do such an important work in collaboration with my own state government.'

According to Chaudhary, the book is divided into three sections. The first volume contains an introduction to the Tharu community, the second volume contains folklore and a brief history of Tharu folklore, and the third volume contains Tharu folklore. The book contains 20 folk tales. This is Chaudhary's seventh work.
