A book written by retired Jamdar Bed Bahadur Khadka of Nepal Army on the genealogy of Ramdikote Punwar Khadka has come to the market. The brave history of Nalapani war warrior Dayaram Khadka has also been given an important place in the book.

Author Khadka said that the book has been published with the aim of preserving the history of Poonwar Khadkas, who are the birthplace of Ramdikot in Pyuthan district.

Poowar Khadkas have made a history of heroism in the Nepali Army years ago and Khadka said that they have prepared the Poowar genealogy by assimilating the social contribution of those who are scattered abroad in the present situation.

Author Khadka said in the book that they are descendants of company commander Subedar Dayaram Khadka, who fought bravely during the fierce war with the British forces in Nalapani 210 years ago. It has been revealed in the book that even when Balabhadra Kunwar left the fort during the Nalapani war, Dayaram Khadka achieved heroism while fighting against the British till the last stage.

Genealogy of Ramdikote Punwar Khadka in the book It is said in the book that Dayaram Khadka joined the Gorkhali army at the age of 14 or 15 years and became a company commander (subedar) showing bravery.

In the battle of Nalapani, along with the loss of the warriors of Major General Gilespilagayat on the British side, there was an equal amount of loss on the Nepalese side. Khadka has stated in the book that Dayaram Khadkal was defeated by the British at the beginning of the Nalapani war which started on 10th November 1871 and after seeing the war skills at that time, Dayaram Khadkal was chosen as the war commander for the expansion of the Nepal state to the west.

It is not easy to fight with the cannons, ammunition and guns of the British forces by using homemade weapons, stones and guns in Nalpani, but the Nepalese army fought bravely against the enemy in that war. Captain Balabhadra Kunwar was deployed from Nepal to resist General Gillespie's attack during the war. Subedar Dayaram Khadka was the company commander inside the fort. It is said in the book that he fell in the fort during the war and fought bravely without running away from the enemy.

To confirm that it was Dayaram Khadka who died in the war, the red seal of his name written in 1869 and letters sent from the Nalapani war front are also included.
