Discussion on writer BN Joshi's memoir 'Shramatan' has been completed. Poet-writer Shakuntala Joshi, who participated in 'Shramatan: Samvad', commented that the book presented the painful reality of almost three decades ago in a poignant manner.

She said, "Nowadays it is easy to go to Malaysia. But BN Joshi almost lost his life while trying to enter Malaysia three decades ago. Shramatan has covered the painful and poignant reality faced in various Gulf countries including Malaysia. Joshi also pointed out that while reading the

book, she felt like 'Life of Pi'. Another commentator, Abhay Shrestha, at the Yasa group's program in the capital, said that 'Shramatan' is an authentic document of the shared life of Nepali youth.

'There is a list of the hunders and bumps that BN Joshi got while entering Malaysia for foreign employment in Shramatan. This is a compilation of his personal experiences while working in the Gulf countries, but it represents the common experiences of the common Nepali youth, he said, adding that this book is still readable. In the

program, critic Rajkumar Baniyan said that the relevance of 'Shramatan' will remain until the trend of foreign employment is stopped, while critic Kumari Lama pointed out that the book contains not only sorrows and hardships but also funny stories.  In the

program, writer BN Joshi as well as banker Dr. Buddhi Malla, Shailendra Adhikari, Amrit Bhadgaon, Jagdish Vetwal and others expressed their opinion. Shramatan, which is a lively presentation of the emotional experiences of Nepalese labor youth, is published in Nepali and English languages.
