Prateek Sharma Lamichhane has been elected as the President of Social Workers Association of Nepal. The fifth session of the organization in Kathmandu elected a new working committee under the leadership of Lamichhane.

The International Association of Social Workers recognizes that only students who have passed at least a bachelor's degree in social work from any university can be members.

The association has been working as the Nepal branch of the organization. Lamichhane, who was elected as the fourth president of the association, is a graduate in social work. He is currently an associate professor at Tribhuvan University. 

Similarly, Saroj Giri, who has a degree in social work, has been elected the vice president of the association. Giri is also currently working as an assistant professor in Trivima.  Sudip Lama Vaiva as the general secretary of the association, Pragati Khadka as the secretary and Rajeshman Singh Shrestha as the treasurer were elected unopposed. Sunita Vishunkhi and Anima Shrestha have been elected as members.

The outgoing president of the organization Sukrita Rai informed that the convention held in the premises of St. Lawrence College has elected a new working committee.
