'Let Pradeep play me in his film,' director Meen Bham was heard jokingly looking at Pradeep Bhattarai. Pradeep immediately replied, 'He is a hero in himself. He stands alone as a hero in the world market while we are fighting with others to release the film on Dasain Tihar.'
The session of the second edition of the Tikapur Literature Festival in Tikapur was, 'Nepali Movies in the Golden Age.' The session was attended by director Meen Bham who is making alternative films, director Pradeep Bhattarai who is making commercial films and producer Ravindra Singh Baniyan and actress Keki Adhikari . These three directors and producers were satirizing each other in the
program. It started with Meen saying, 'Pradeepji doesn't invite me to the premiere .' Rabindra retorted sarcastically, 'For him, Nepal is just a transit . He wrote the script in France. He will not be here when our film is shot.'
Meen sarcastically credited Pradeep Ravindra for saving the Nepali film industry when it took him 10 years to make a film. 'It takes time for an elephant to be born, brother,' Rabindra said Said .
Then Rabindra also described his relationship with Meen Bham . 'I have known him since he was on the Gurukul hill . We are helping each other,' he said. The golden age of
film
reached 'Poorna Bahadurko Sarangi' and Nepali films were doing interesting business. Since then, they have not been relatively . Facilitator Deepjyoti asked actress Keki, 'Is now the golden age of films ?'
Keki said that there is a progressive thing in cinema literature itself, 'to some extent we are in a golden age. Now we are getting to see inclusive movies . Before we were only seeing one kind of face. Now we are seeing different faces. We are going to Venice, Toronto .' She also said that now the makers are excited to make the film.
Pradeep said that time has always been golden. But how to make good use of the golden age. If we keep the audience's wishes in mind, it will always be golden,' he said.
Rabindra does not fully accept. "In terms of the quality of the film, it is not golden," he said, "Some films are being made in folk style." '
Even though Meenka's film travels internationally, there is always a challenge from the audience when it is released in Nepal. Meen said that if the audience does not understand the film he has made, it will be an injustice to them. The
program will continue till the 26th.
