Educationist Vidyanath Koirala has said that there are no living people in universities. He said this in response to a question asked by facilitator Bimal Acharya about the distortions in the education sector during the 'Known, Vivek and Vigyan' session on the first day of the Kathmandu festival held by the Nepal Tourism Board.
Facilitator Bimal asked him how he managed to survive especially when no one told him to speak despite such a deformity. In response, he said, 'We should be intellectuals, we became intellectuals. There is an extreme lack of creativity among teachers. There is a tendency to keep looking for empty excuses for not wanting to make even general improvements.'' Educationist Koirala said that the report of the Education Commission has been shelved by the current Prime Minister and said that it is their investment in private education. Educationist Koirala said that the work of the university is not a course but a discourse, 'but our university only teaches to pass the exam, it does not teach in terms of understanding what knowledge and consciousness are in depth.'
Rajni Dhakal admitted that even though there are extensive weaknesses in the curriculum at Tribhuvan University, they are not in a position to improve it. She said, 'The curriculum has been made to have 56 reference materials of one teacher.' asked that. Vidyanath said that there is confusion in Kathmandu University, while Rajini said that there is a shortage of students in the university. She said, "We are forced to teach 15, 20 people."
