Krishna Village has been elected as the President of Progressive Writers Association, Nepal Rupandehi. The 28th annual general meeting and 10th session of the association held in Butwal on Saturday elected a new district working committee.
Subas Rizal, Hiralal Dhami and Gyanu KC have been elected as the vice presidents of the working committee, while Yajlal Subedi has been elected as the secretary. Gitarani Balal Thapa has been elected as joint secretary, Tekraj Lusal as treasurer and Madhav Kumar Paudel, Humraj Bhusal, Saru Gyawali, Sagar KC, Ben Prasad Thapa, Jeevan Pandey, Nar Bahadur Gharti, Durgalal Tiwari, Suraj Deepshikha, Sunita Chundali, Heera Sharma, Sharda Pandey, Kamala Banjade and Durgadevi Thapa as members. The chief guest of the
program, Progressive Writers' Association, Nepal Central Committee Vice President Prof. Nomla Sharma, discussed the importance of the organization. The special guest, Central Secretary Dal Bahadur Gurung, highlighted the role of progressive literature and its impact on raising the consciousness of the working class. Ramchandra Bhattarai, Pragya Bund Rana and Dil Sahani, who were in parental hospitality, emphasized the need to strengthen the literary movement.
The progress and financial report was presented by Kaviraj Paudel, president of Nepal Rupandehi. Devendra Ghimire, a senior writer and former president, was awarded 'Prales Samman' by the 'Jyotiman Buddhikumari Pradhan Akshay Kosh' founded by former president Pradeep Pradhan. In the
event, the mouthpiece of Progressive Writers Association, Nepal Rupandehi 'Prales' was released. Prada Kapildev Lamichhane, Dr. Murari Parajuli, Yagya Gayre, Sujith Vick, Leela Bahadur KC, Dilliraj Bhattarai, Dr. Ajit Khanal and others gave congratulatory remarks.
