Formation of Award Selection Committee by Meenkumari Foundation

The Meenkumari Rana Foundation has formed a five-member committee under the coordination of the foundation's president Kabir Rana to select suitable candidates for the 'Democracy Fighter, Senior Journalist and Senior Athlete' award to be given on the third death anniversary of social worker late Meenkumari Rana.

Ravi Rana, the general secretary of the foundation, informed that every year, on the annual death anniversary of Meenkumari Rana, the foundation has been providing awards in three categories and scholarships to one school. The committee formed under the coordination of President Rana has senior writer Dr. Dhruvachandra Gautam, senior journalist Harihar Virhi and democracy fighter Mathwarsingh Basnet, while General Secretary Ravi Rana is the member secretary.  According to

foundation, the amount of all prizes is 51 thousand one rupees. On the third death anniversary, the statue of late Meenkumari Rana will be unveiled and Meenkumari Rana Marg will be named.

On the first death anniversary, senior writer Dr. Dhruva Chandra Gautam, senior journalist Harihar Virhi, democracy fighter Mathwarsingh Basnet and senior athlete and boxing coach Madan Gurung were awarded by the President Dr. Ramvaran Yadav. And senior boxing coach Prakash Thapamgar was awarded by President Ramchandra Paudel. 

51,001 rupees was handed over to senior songwriter Subaschandra Dhungel, president of the Alumni Association, to be given to the brave students of Adarsh ​​Secondary School in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, where the Rana family studied earlier.
