Ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit was honored with Shripati Samajseva Award in Pokhara on Saturday. Shripati Koirala Guthi of Pokhara awarded him with 222 thousand 222 rupees.

Accepting the award at the 32nd general assembly of Guthi, Dr. Rui said that he has gained more energy. "I started a very important work in the field of eyes in 1992 from Mustang in Gandaki province," he said, "Pokhara in this region is close to my profession. I am blessed to receive this award.' 

He said that skilled manpower cannot be stopped in the country unless a working environment is created and he expressed the opinion that Nepal, located between India and China, will develop within 15 years if there is good culture in politics.  

Dr. Ruit, Executive Director of Tilganga Eye Institute, has previously been honored with many honors and awards in Nepal and internationally. Phanindraraj Koirala, president of Guthi, said that he was given this award because of his focus on social justice and service to humanity through eye treatment. 

Previously, Maiti Nepal, an organization working in the field of reducing human trafficking, Mahavir Pun's National Innovation Center, Sarlahi's Padma Bhuvaneshwari Model Elderly Service Ashram and Pokhara's Vindhyavasini Religious Area Development Committee have been awarded with this award.

The selection committee formed under the coordination of Koirala, the chairman of Guthi, announced to award Dr. Ruit on the 217th birth anniversary of Shripati Koirala on June 26. Prada Dil Bahadur Chhetri, Prada Vishwakalyan Parajuli, Gehendreshwar Koirala, Ashok Palikhe, Dipendra Shrestha and Vimala Bhandari were members of the selection committee. 

On the occasion of the general meeting, Guthi presented the Sripati Social Journalism Award to journalist Narayan Karki. The prize amount is 22 thousand 222 rupees. Navraj Koirala, Secretary of Guthi, said that Shripati Vishnuhari Astrology Award, Shripati Vidyapadak and scholarship were awarded on that occasion.
