Through a campaign called 'Maiti-Mawali Seva', the youth of Sankhuwasabha Khandbari are providing free motorcycle ride service to those who are stranded due to lack of vehicles and who cannot pay the car fare during Dasain. Locals say that this campaign has provided great relief to the local community and spread the message of social unity.
This campaign has started from Navami day and will continue throughout Dashain period . So far more than 100 people have taken this service . According to Meghraj Tolangi, coordinator of the campaign, more than 100 people have taken this free motorcycle service in three days. In particular, this service has helped people who are forced to walk for hours without the facility of a vehicle, unable to pay the car rental due to lack of finances, and those who are in an emergency situation. Even on muddy and unpaved roads, the youths are continuing their service regardless of rain and rain.
This initiative of 'Maiti-Mawli Seva' has won the hearts of the locals. To support the campaign, local donors have filled the youth with gasoline and provided other support. Coordinator Tolangi has expressed his commitment to transparently publicize the details of the support received from the donors after the completion of the campaign. Khotang 'Dasai-Tihar gift to girls' campaign
Young people are engaged in similar social work in Khotang. The campaign has been conducted since Thursday with the aim of providing free transport services to Maiti-Mawli for women, elderly, children and those with poor economic conditions.
Campaign coordinator Sanjay Kumar Rai said that under the second edition of the campaign named 'Dasai Tihar Girl Gift', the campaign will be conducted for 4 days on the occasion of Dasain till the 19th and on the occasion of Tihar till the 5th, 6th and 7th of October. "This campaign has been started with the aim of reaching women, the elderly, children and those with weak economic conditions to Maiti-Mawli," he said.
He said that 25 bike riders and two vehicles served on the first day of the campaign conducted on the occasion of Dasain. "Last year, we served about 500 people," he said, "this year, the goal is to serve 1,000 people."
