The bodies of those who died in the jeep fire incident in Pathibhara area on Monday have been identified by their families. Vinod Paudel, Sarita Paudel of Jhapa Bhadrapur and Aadhya Acharya of Lalitpur were identified by Vinod's brother Mahesh Paudel, informed Vivek Basnet, Information Officer and Police Inspector of District Police Office Taplejung.
According to Mahesh, who identified the dead body, all the three people will be cremated today in Jhapa Bhadrapur. Son (of Vinod-Sarita) is coming to Kathmandu from Australia at 2 pm today. We have booked a ticket to Bhadrapur from Kathmandu at three o'clock. We will bury him today after he arrives,' said Mahesh, 'We will also bury his granddaughter Adhya in Jhapa along with her grandparents.' He said that since his mother (Savina Paudel Acharya) is undergoing treatment, it is not possible to take the body to Kathmandu. Savina is being treated in Kathmandu.
The family of Durga Bhattarai, a resident of Taplejung Fungling, a driver, will hold a funeral at Sisne Dobhan Ghat in Furumbu today at 11 am, said Indra Narayan Bhattarai, a family member. Bhattarai's post-mortem was conducted this morning and others yesterday evening at the district hospital.
In a jeep going to Pathibhara with five passengers, an accident took place near Sevaro Chowk in Pathibhara area on Monday morning. Four people including the driver of the jeep were burned to death on the spot while one person was seriously injured. The condition of one child is normal . The Pathibhara Area Development Committee has said that the expenses up to the delivery of the body to the destination will be borne. According to the executive director of the committee, Prajin Hangwang, the committee will bear the cost of bringing the body to Bhadrapur in an ambulance and the cost of bringing it to the district hospital from the scene of the incident.
