Modern education in Nepal began with community schools. There are 27,200 community schools across the country, where 4.6 million children, or 73 percent of school-age students, study.

These schools have been producing skilled human resources such as famous doctors, engineers, scientists, skilled managers, administrators, economists, anthropologists, sociologists, lawyers, educationists, agriculturists, politicians, and others who have made the country and society better.

The state has also been investing in public schools established at the initiative of the community and strengthening them. Questions have also been raised about the educational quality of community schools. Comments like ‘community schools have fallen into the hands of politics, the educational quality has deteriorated. The state’s huge investment is being wasted’ are heard everywhere. But that is not entirely true. There are also strong and capable community schools.

which have been leading the country’s school education with the best results for decades. The results of the students are tempting. The trust and confidence of the parents and the community has not been broken. Due to that trust and confidence, the pressure of the students is also high.

Entrance examination is mandatory for admission and it is very competitive. In today's Kantipur Koseli, we have presented interesting stories of the improvement and success of 20 excellent community schools from 7 provinces.
