The real hero is the father

What you should know

I grew up in lack, pain and poverty since childhood. We had to struggle to get books, paper and pens to read and write. It was like a dream to bring sweet and delicate food and go for a walk. Father had a lot of struggle to make the stove in the evening and in the morning.

Ever since I was young, I was always stressed and worried about whether my dream of becoming a doctor would come true due to poverty and oppression. Father Santaram Harijan created an environment for me to continue my studies by working as a wage laborer in a brick kiln, teaching tuition and taking loans. The real hero who made me a doctor is my father. Hearing the story of my father's struggle, seeing his hard work and confidence, I have reached here today.

My house is in Krishnanagar Municipality-9 Bahadurganj. I was born on 5th October 2056 . After I grew up in poverty and became a 'doctor', the discussion started. Being recognized as the first woman doctor from the country's Chamar community fills the chest with pride . He has also passed the 72nd license examination of Nepal Medical Council (NMC). I passed the exam conducted last May. Now I have filled the form to get NMC license number . After getting the NMC number, I am preparing to go for bonding service for two years in the hospital appointed by the government .

My father has struggled a lot to raise and educate me. Father had to face social discrimination while studying primary class (1 to 5). When he went to study in Mahendra Pravi, he had to carry a separate bag, sit separately and when drinking water, the upper caste had to drink water after pouring water from the Gagri into Anjuli. But the father endured everything and continued his studies .
Poverty was such that when my father went to school, he didn't have a sweater in winter. He used to wear half shorts.

In spite of poverty and destitution, the father did not stop studying . Gave SLC in year 039 from Shri Ram Gorkha M.V. of Bahadurganj, Passed in first rank with center top of the exam . He didn't have the ability to study outside. Passed first class ISC from Shivpati Inter College, Soharatgarh, Uttar Pradesh, near the border of India. Father was hardworking and diligent in studying . He had good knowledge in English, Mathematics and Science. Students were very interested in studying tuition . He taught in a government school at Garhwa in Dang. Later, he went to Kathmandu and took his name as Asai. Started working from Ward Police Office, Kamalpokhri.

The team under the command of the father arrested a person in the rape incident in 2045. That person is a relative of a high police officer. Then the father was dismissed for accepting a bribe of 3,000. The father was innocent but not strong enough to fight with the mighty . That's why he got fired. If this incident had not happened, father would have reached the top rank of the police today. We didn't have to go through want and pain.

Grandfather used to work as a mason to build a house . The land was not much. My father bought some land with the money he earned by teaching school and tuition in Dang and Kathmandu. He was married at the age of 5 to see if he would get married later.

We children were growing up . Suffering from suffering, lack of pain and oppression, the father resolved to educate his children well. We three daughters and one son were enrolled in Sriram Gorkha Mavi of Bahadurgunj where my father studied. Three children of the family are taking names for scholarships. This is possible because of the story and inspiration of my father's struggle and the discipline he taught. The real hero is the father

Grandpa kept getting sick, father Asai was fired from his job . The father could not continue his studies as he had to pay for the education of his children. Had to stop after passing ISC . Searching for the cheapest campus, he enrolled in Machindra Campus of Lagankhel for B.Com, but could not study due to lack of money. Elder sister Ranjana studied only up to class 10. Bhai Sandeep Harijan is studying sixth semester of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering at India's prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raukela, Odisha on scholarship. 23-year-old Sandeep is studying there after receiving a scholarship from the Indian Embassy. Miley Didi Srijana is studying MSc in UK . She also got there with a partial scholarship.

Passing class 8 is also very difficult in our community . After starting to study in upper class, there is an attempt to stop . I also heard that my relatives said that to my father many times, but my father refused . In 2007, after completing SLC in the first class from the village school, I completed Plus Two in Biology from Pentagon College in Kathmandu. After that, the educational journey of MBBS proceeded . I studied with plus two scholarship. My father was not in a position to teach me MBBS by paying 40/45 lakhs . It was not enough to sell all the property . Again, I was not the only one reading, sister and brother were also reading .

Father searched many places, asked friends for help. In the meantime, my father heard from someone that the University Grants Commission gives scholarships. inquired . I also got admission in Neam Institute for MBBS Preparatory Class . But there was no monthly tuition fee of 35/40,000 to pay, and my father was very upset. He used to bring it from everywhere. When he came to give money, I used to see the pain and sorrow on his face . It was difficult for me.

I passed the MBBS entrance exam in the year 2076. On the day he passed the entrance exam, tears of joy were on his father's face. But then the father's difficult day began . Although there is no money for studying MBBS, one has to raise expenses for study materials including hostel, textbooks and exam fees. One lakh per annum was to be paid only for the hostel fee . 50,000 per year for textbooks and 5/7 thousand for other expenses. When sending my elder sister to UK and only for me, my father took a loan of around 30 lakhs by mortgaging the land . 35,000 monthly interest must be paid. He has also taken a loan of Rs 5/7 lakh from a friend. He has invested in his children.

The moment of passing MBBS from Janaki Medical College, Janakpur on government scholarship is unforgettable . I give all the credit to my father. Being recognized as the first woman doctor from the country's Chamar community fills the chest with pride . I am excited and equally emotional. For me it was only as a study but for my father it was self respect and self respect .

For my future and happiness, my father suffered, struggled, sold jewelry, took a loan, worked, endured humiliation . A good parent did everything he was supposed to do, and left no stone unturned. No matter how much a good parent does, the respect for the one who cut his stomach is less. I will always be grateful to my father . Salute to my father who made the first woman doctor from Chamar, Dom, Musahar and Badi community. I have told father not to panic . Now, in one/two years, all three of us will be earning, we will pay all the debts, I have found that my father's heart is sad .

I have become a doctor from the Chamar community, which has been excluded due to caste untouchability and discrimination. This achievement is not only my personal success, but it is also an example that the discrimination created in the society can be removed through education . Dalits, especially Madhesi Dalit women, who are under double oppression, have to struggle to survive, rarely become doctors from such a community . It is my pleasure to be one of them. My washing is not done yet . I have a dream to do MD in gynecology . Rural women cannot openly discuss their problems with male doctors. For that too, I want to become an obstetrician .
