Four days after the minibus that fell into the Karnali River in Dailekh, the crashed vehicle has not been found. The search operation in Karnali has been affected due to high water flow and murky river.

A minibus (Force) bearing the number Karnali Province-02-001 Kha 1055, which was heading from Surkhet to Raskot in Kalikot, fell into the Karnali River from the Sangetada road in Chamundabindrasaini Municipality-7 in Dailekh at around 11:30 am on Thursday. The condition of the vehicle and the exact details of the passengers on board have not been revealed till Sunday.

DIG Jayaraj Sapkota, Chief of the Karnali Province Police Office, said that the search operation has become challenging due to high water flow and murky water in the river. According to him, the vehicle has not been found despite regular searches in the possible areas below the accident site. 'The vehicle has not been found yet. It is not yet clear how many people were on board,' he said. 'We have deployed teams of all security agencies to various places along the Karnali River in search operations.'

According to him, only five people have purchased tickets in the transport company's records. But security personnel have speculated that passengers may have boarded from the middle of the road. No entry record of the vehicle was found at the police post on the way.

The condition of the minibus and passengers that fell in Karnali is still unknown, from helicopters to drones being deployed.

Police have said that one person's body was found stuck on a cliff after the accident. Although the body has been identified, the condition of the other passengers is unknown.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have continued the search by mobilizing helicopters, drones and water rescue teams. DIG Sapkota said that 176 security personnel have been mobilized.

According to the headquarters of the Northwest Region, the army has mobilized about 70 soldiers in the Karnali River area from the accident site to Bardiya, while 36 from the Armed Police Force and 70 from the Nepal Police have been deployed as divers and disaster rescue teams. The army is continuing the search operation by conducting aerial surveillance of potential locations in the river with the help of helicopters and drone cameras, Region Chief Dipesh Jung Shah said. 'The search operation is facing problems due to murky water, high water flow and lack of modern equipment,' he said.

The heads of the security agencies have said that the search will be made more effective as soon as the river flow normalizes.
