A woman who was seriously injured in the flood in Gairigaun, Jagadulla Rural Municipality-5, Dolpa, has been rescued by a Nepali Army helicopter.

Chief District Officer Junu Hamal Dhakal said that 44-year-old Reuli BK, who was injured in the flood, was rescued by a Nepali Army helicopter in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to him, BK has serious injuries to the lower part of her body. After the rescue, she was taken to Surkhet for further treatment, Dhakal informed.

Six people, including BK, were injured when the floodwaters that came from Dhula Khola and surrounding creeks entered the village on Sunday morning.

The District Police Office, Dolpa, has said that 56-year-old Anandi BK, a local, died in the flood. The Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been mobilized for rescue, relief and collection of details of the damage in the flood-affected areas. Security agencies have intensified the work of rescuing and distributing relief to the affected families as well as collecting details of the damage.
