The Karnali provincial government has allocated Rs 230 million to turn the provincial hospital, Surkhet, into an institute of health sciences in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. 

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Rajiv Bikram Shah said that additional budget has been allocated for infrastructure development and human resource management at the hospital. 

According to Minister Shah, kidney dialysis services will be expanded at Dailekh Hospital, while Rs 40 million has been allocated for burn treatment in the province.  Similarly, the maternity nutrition allowance has been continued. 

He informed that Rs 90 million has been allocated for infrastructure development for the 10th Games. 

Similarly, Rs 50 million has been allocated for preparations for the 10th Games, and Rs 37.5 million for the management of the provincial stadium, said Finance Minister Shah. He informed that Rs 50 million has been allocated for the establishment of a modern library at Madhya Paschim University.
